Mara Ngala

Introducing Mara Ngala or the Pathway tree (Ring tree). This painting is a symbol of direction for aboriginal people. But no only was it a symbol aboriginal people grew and used real ring trees to guide them long distances. Most of Australias highways were built using the Aboriginals ring trees because when they first needed direction the used the aboriginal tracker and the only way the tracker knew how to travel far was with the ring trees.
